REDLANDSBlocked Drains

About this service

Updated October 2026

Redlands Blocked Drains is a local referral service for the Redlands, Queensland, the bayside strip and islands east of Brisbane that make up Redland City. It does one thing: when you have a drain problem, it puts you in touch with a QBCC-licensed local drain plumber who works your suburb.

The council brands the area Redlands Coast. Locals call it the Redlands, and so do we.

How it works

You send the quote form with your suburb and a line about what the drain is doing. Your details go to a licensed plumber who services your area, and they call you back with a price. Quotes are free, there is no obligation, and you deal with the plumber directly from there.

Why it exists

Finding a good drain plumber at short notice usually means calling around while water rises. This site shortcuts that. The content here is written to help you understand what is wrong, what fixing it involves and what it should roughly cost, so you can judge the quote you get.

Why the islands get their own pages

Redland City is about a third water and has six residential islands. Their drainage reality is genuinely different. Coochiemudlo Island is sewered and piped to the Victoria Point treatment plant. Russell, Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra islands have no sewer at all and run on-site septic and treatment systems. Amity Point is unsewered, and the council says about half the urban areas of Dunwich and Point Lookout are unsewered too.

Access is different as well. A plumber with a jetter, a camera reel or an excavator reaches the islands on a booked vehicle barge, not by driving. So the island pages here say what is true rather than repeating a mainland promise. The callback is prompt. Attendance depends on the next available barge, and the tide can move it.

The fine print, plainly

Redlands Blocked Drains is not a plumbing business and does not carry out plumbing work. Plumbing and drainage is licensed work in Queensland, it must be done by a QBCC-licensed plumber at any value of work, and every job referred through this site goes to one. Price ranges published here are a guide based on typical South East Queensland rates, and the plumber's own quote is the price that counts. Where this site describes a council process, the council's own pages are the authority, because those processes change.
